Flowers and Elephants

I found this pattern for making shoes and decided to try it. This is the second pair I have made. I made some for Kade that have sea creatures on them. It's not too hard and they are really cute. I'm in the middle of making Saige some out of fleece. I'm thinking of buying some soft leather clothes at the DI to make some out of that.

This is a custom order I just got done with. People love this print. I ran out of it for a while, but I found some more last week and bought a bunch.

Skirt Auction

I decided to do an auction at my online store to get more people looking. It ended with no bids :( I then decided did a "featured listing." Basically, it's an ad that comes up when you pull up the main site. It's up for 24 hrs. I took better pics of the skirt and tried again. 2 hrs later, it had a bid :) Today, it has 3! Yay! The featured listing has been so worth it. I had 6 shoppers online a minute ago! Here's a link to the auction.

My first conversation with Kade

It went something like this:

K: "Hi"
Me: "Hi"
K: cries
Me: "What do you want?"
K: walks over to his booster chair at the table and says "Up"
Me: "You're hungry?"
K: "yeah"
I go get him a cereal bar and bring it to him and he says "please"
Me: "Say open please"
K: "open please"
I open it for him and he runs away with it. This is so much better than him screaming and me trying to guess what he wants.
Yesterday, he learned 2 new words: puppy and open. He even pointed at a dog and said "see puppy"

An old lady in a basket

I bet you read that title and think I'm the meanest or the craziest person alive. Haha...last week, we all went for a walk to the library to pick up a book I put on hold. Circe has bad discs in her back that cause her a lot of pain. On the way home, she started stopping us and walking stiff. There was no way I was going to carry her, so I put her in the basket underneath the stroller. She wasn't sure about it at first, but then she laid down and totally didn't care. We're afraid she won't ever go on walks again after this.

It's Show and Tell day :)

Burp cloth sets. These have a loop of ribbon to hook linky toys on them.

The cutest little boy underwear, EVER! I know we're not potty learning yet, but I couldn't resist this pattern when I saw it. There is a soaker that snaps into these, so if they do wet in them, it's no big deal. It's kind of like a washable pull-up.

This is a set I made for someone I know...I'm not telling who:) It's a matching t-shirt and fleece pants set with an obv/hemp fleece fitted diaper.

This is something new I'm working on. It's a wet bag. Basically, it's a bag you keep in the diaper bag that is waterproof for dirty diapers. There is a swatch on the inside for essential oils, so it doesn't smell in there. The ones I sell will also have a loop with a snap or elastic on it to hook it to the diaper bag or on a door handle for the bigger ones.

A custom I made for a really nice mama.

My new woven labels with my business name on them. They turned out really nice.Kade in his rock obv and hemp fleece fitted diaper. I made him a set with a t-shirt and fleece pants that have a guitar made of this print applique'd on them.
Until next time...

Farmer's markets

What is it about a farmer's market that just draws me in? I tried *really* hard to drive by the one I saw yesterday in Kaysville, but ended up turning around. It was a good thing though, because there was a woman with a booth there that was selling a lot of the same things I'm making. I got some really good ideas. I also got a huge watermelon for $2 :)

...and yes, I realize I'm crazy :)

Change

I have been pretty grumpy for the last, ooooohh, week and a half. I have just been on edge. I haven't been able to figure out why until now. I do NOT handle change well. Unfortunately, my daughter has inherited that from me. We've been on the same "schedule" for a year now and in the last month, it has been turned upside down. I wake up feeling out of control and I hate that. This is probably going to sound insane to some people, but this is me. I had to sit down, figure out what I need to do every week and find a day where it fits. This made me feel SO much better. I really like this new schedule, I really do, it's just such a change for me. I started doing trade work for Saige's preschool(that my aunt owns) in exchange for tuition, I'm trying to find time to work on my business, clean, and do the daily things I need to do. I figured out that it is pointless to do any business anything with Kade awake, so I do that only when he is asleep. I do the preschool work and the post office after his nap when he is happy and will entertain himself with the toys. I go grocery shopping while Saige is in school to save gas money. I'm figuring it out slowly.

Life is more about my kids now, which is great. We walk to the library every thursday for storytime, we make cookies and Saige helps me cook dinner a lot. They are eating healthier because I actually have the time to cook. I just need some time to adjust! The only one not benefiting from this is my boss...lol. He keeps asking me when I'm coming back full time. NEVER!!

Silly Boy

Right now, Kade is supposed to be sleeping, but he's listening to his favorite cd. He keeps sitting up and clapping, dancing or singing along, he lays back down and then does it all over again.

Learning

I feel like in the past week, my kids have grown SO much! Kade has learned about 10 new words and he is more interactive with us than ever. He had a short conversation with Saige one day and I was totally blown away. Saige is sounding out words and starting to read a little. The other day, out of the blue, she came and told me how to spell on and off. She figured it out from reading a light switch.

New Product

I have been working on this in between other things and I am finally done just in time for fall! I have started testing these through a website and so far, they are doing awesome :) They work great as a diaper cover because fleece is pretty waterproof. I even made some for Saige just for fun.

I am in BIG trouble!

So, last night, I got Saige's dinner all ready, set it on the table and turned around to get mine. This is what I found when I turned around again:
I guess he was hungry. You can't tell from this pic, but he has also taken his diaper off. He is sitting on the table naked eating enchiladas!

First Day of School

Today Saige started her last year of preschool. She is in the same room as last year and even has a couple kids in her class that she had last year. She warmed right up to her teacher, I really like her.

Here is a pic of her outside the building:

She had lots of fun dressing up her little brother:
