Please help

A mom on one of my wahm forums lost her husband last week, so we all donated some of our store items for an auction. All proceeds will go to her for funeral expenses. Here is the link to the auction. Please bid if you can!! There is also some raffles for great stuff. They are only $2-5. I enter a couple of them.
Thanks!

It got worse

It turns out that it wasn't teething that was causing Kade's pain, it was an ear infection. The amber necklace was still helping though. There was one day that I he was up at 4 am crying and wouldn't go back to sleep no matter what I did. I finally gave up around 6:30 and sat with him in the rocking chair, then called the Dr and got him in that day. That made 2 kids and a dog on antibiotics at the same time. I decided to save some time and get Saige rechecked while I was there. That didn't work out so well. We spent 5 hours trying to get her to pee in a cup, that's right, 5 hours. So much for me saving time.
Chris and I celebrated Valentine's Day by going to dinner, the Alaskan Inn and snowboarding last weekend. The anniversary of our first date is coming up soon, so it was kind of a celebration of that too. It was fun. I started getting sick on Saturday and still wasn't feeling well when we left, but I was determined to have a good time anyway. I hope it gets better soon, because this is miserable!!

To my babies

I don't usually post this kind of stuff, but I am totally in love with this song. I have to fight back tears every time I listen to it. The video is the remixed version done by my favorite producer. Kaskade is from Utah and he is incredible. Anyway, enjoy.

your baby blues
so full of wonder
your curly cues
your contagious smile
and as i watch
you start to grow up
all I can do is hold you tight

knowing
clouds will rage up
storms will race in
but you will be safe
in my arms
rains will pour down
waves will crash around
but you will be safe
in my arms

story books are full of fairy tales
of kings and queens and the bluest skies
My heart is torn
just in knowing
you'll someday see
the truth from lies

when the
clouds will rage and
storms will race in
but you will be safe
in my arms
rains will pour down
waves will crash around
but you will be safe
in my arms

Castles they might crumble
dreams may not come true
but you are never all alone
because I will always
always love you

when the
clouds will rage up
storms will race in
but you will be safe
in my arms
rains will pour down
waves will crash around
but you will be safe
in my arms

in my arms

I have a normal child again!

I recently traded a mama for a couple of amber necklaces. I got them in the mail yesterday. Kade hadn't been sleeping for about 4 days so I put it on him for a few hours just to see what would happen. He slept ALL night and didn't wake up once! Maybe it's just a coincidence but I'm going to try it again today and see what happens.

Here's some info on the benefits of amber:

Pure Natural Baltic Amber baby teething necklaces have been used in Europe for centuries to help infants through the teething process. They are one of those things that people use because they are so effective. They are so popular that they are sold in European pharmacies.

Historically mothers found that placing a string of amber around the baby's neck soothed and calmed the baby. And over the centuries they passed the lore on from mother to daughter.

Modern science has now explained why this happens.

First modern science has confirmed the effectiveness of amber as a natural cure because of its high content in succinic acid. And not only has it confirmed its effectiveness, synthetically prepared succinic acid is being used in modern medications.

When you place a natural Baltic amber necklace around a baby's neck, it heats to the baby's body temperature. That heating releases succinic acid in the form of amber oil and miniscule amounts of aromatic vapor. ( There is complete information about the curative powers of amber in the Resources section of the navigation bar at the left. )

The healthy amber oil is absorbed through the baby's skin.

The Health Benefits of Amber
"Why did the ancient people wear beads? Why was amber used in herbal teas and Chinese medicines?"

It has long been believed that wearing beads or bracelets of specific minerals could have health benefits.

Although substances, such as pearl and amber, have been found in Chinese medicine to contain medicinal properties, many of the healing ingredients are destroyed by the body's gastric juices if taken internally. Ingredients in certain substances may even trigger serious side effects or sickness, we could never condone this approach. By wearing certain materials close to the body, however, it has been suggested that their molecules may be absorbed by the body, thereby allowing its healing functions to work.

Amber was used regularly for healing and health enhancement in ancient Chinese medicine - a belief that is still practiced today. There are many varieties of amber; some are a very rare occurrence in nature. Amber beads are mainly separated by their colour, transparency, texture or grains, and locality. It is also believed that colour plays a large role in determining the specific benefit(s) an amber bead may have on the body; this being because different colours of beads affect the body differently due to the slight variations in their chemical composition. Benefits are said to include detoxification, increased blood circulation, and improved heart, liver, kidney, and intestinal function.

Honey-coloured Amber Beads
Honey-colored amber - Said to detoxify the body, provide stress relief from aftershock, alleviate arthritis pain, relax the body, improve breathing and circulation

Orange-coloured Amber Beads
Orange amber - Said to boost immune system, reduce inflammation, accelerate healing of wounds.

Red-coloured Amber Beads
Red crystal amber - Said to improve heart function, increase blood circulation.

Yellow-coloured Amber Beads
Yellow silk amber - Said to relieve allergies, stomach ache, gastritis, increase oxygen levels in cells, delay aging, improve skin.

Tips for eating naturally on a budget

I just found this article through a forum and thought I'd share it. As most of you know, I'm always looking for ways to eat healthy and save money doing it. I need to start doing this more. I want to start using beans from scratch. We go through a lot of them around here and it's getting expensive. I have also saved a lot of money by making my own cleaners. There are cleaner recipes on my other blog.

What are the odds?!

So, we took Saige in for her kindergarten exam, and he did some routine things that included a urinalysis. The Dr. called me back a couple days later and it turns out she has a bladder infection. It's a bad one too. I feel bad! She has had a couple of issues, but I thought it was related to something else.
Then, the company that runs our lab work at the clinic I work at give free blood panels every once in a while so I took Circe in with me yesterday to get it done. The panel includes a urinalysis, so we're in the ultrasound room and the way they get urine is they find their bladder and then take a long needle with a syringe and pull urine out with it. We're all talking and when she pulled on the syringe, we both gasped...it was the color of rootbeer. I got scared, but she reassured me that it was ok. I got the results this morning. She has a bladder infection too! There were also a couple of other things they found so I'm going to bring her in for a real ultrasound on Monday. I'm hoping it's nothing to be concerned about and I'm trying not to worry about her, but she's getting old. I'm really glad I brought her in though.
I'm starting to wonder if there is something in our water...maybe I should run a u/a on myself!
