Yesterday... And today...

I volunteered to make vegetarian sushi for a work dinner party last night. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. You can tell my first ones are on the right :) It turned out to be a really fun night. We played rock band and listened to the Juno soundtrack. Those people are the reason I stay at my job and deal with the other crap. You are all awesome!!

I took Kade in for his one year check up this morning so I thought I would write an update. Our pediatrician likes to do a blood test to check iron levels and try to get a urine sample at one year. This is fine, it just adds to everything else the poor kid has to do when he is there. They put this clear bag that is sticky on one side on him under his diaper to try to catch urine. When the nurse pulled it off, I thought she was going to take some scrotum with it! Chris even told her to stop for a second. All that and he didn't even pee in it.

Anyway, turns out that everything is great. He's growing like he should, his iron is fine, which is really good. I think he has had meat maybe twice in his life. He has four teeth coming in on top that should come through any time now. He is the slowest teether EVER! We're still nursing, which I'm fine with. I thought Chris was ready for us to stop, but the other night he told me we should keep going as long as I can/want. For Kade, of course, but also for my endometriosis. I have hardly any pain now. Sometimes I think that's selfish, but I AM doing it mostly for his benefit, not mine. I think I am going to start supplementing while I am at work so I don't have to pump anymore. It is such a pain...literally.

Saige's last day of school was last week. She is really sad and misses her friends. I'm thinking of putting her in swimming lessons for something to do this summer. Living where we do is great because of all the kids around. She always has someone to play with.

Kader took 3 steps yesterday...on his birthday! He was so proud of himself. I wish it would have been a more exciting day, but I had to work and it was raining. I made him a dinner that I know he loves and let him eat a treat after. I'm taking him to the dr for a well visit tomorrow, so I'll update again after that.

We had Kade's party a little early because my dad was in town. I think it turned out pretty good. Here are some pics from the day:

I finally picked this up yesterday and I can't wait to read it! I'm a little upset that she wrote this instead of finishing the twilight sequel, but oh well. I guess I can wait...lol. I've heard good things about it, but I'll have to post an update when I finish it.

So, this is what Chris got me for Mother's Day. I honestly didn't have any idea he was doing this. I had never even looked into these before. It is awesome though! I find a new use for it every day. I make grocery lists, make myself notes, use it as my alarm clock(set only the days I need to get up for work), watch movies, it has wi-fi so I can surf the web, check my e-mail. I love it
